about
beachcraftは「浜の乗り物」という意味です (ex. aircraft=航空機）。砂地でも軽快に動かすことができる車椅子をつくることをライフワークにしています。beachcraftは「浜の工房」という意味でもあります。
"beachcraft" means "vehicles for the beach" (e.g., similar to how "aircraft" refers to flying machines). I have made it my life's work to create wheelchairs that can move smoothly even on sandy terrain. "beachcraft" also carries the meaning of "a workshop by the beach."
代表プロフィール
柏村安良理（かしわむら あらり）
高校時代にトンガ王国で家族と1年暮らす。日大芸術学部で bauhaus の山脇巌教授の元で建築を学ぶ。卒業後GKデザインに入社。主にヤマハのモーターサイクルのデザインを担当。
GKDI（サンタモニカ・米国）に転勤。バイクをはじめ、各種モータープロダクトの市場調査や先行開発に従事。週末は全米各地イベントに出張。
パサデナのアートセンター (デザイン専門学校) で夜のクラス (マーカースケッチ) を1年受講。GKDI退社後ヨーロッパに渡り、bauhaus ゆかりの地やドイツ・イタリアのデザイン事務所を巡る。
帰国後、有限会社逸品意匠研究所 (デザイン事務所) を設立。バイクをはじめ、産業機器や家電、医療機器など様々なデザインを手掛ける。
主なクライアントは日立、ソニー、パナソニック、NEC、テイジン、横浜ゴム、ウォータースタジオ、根本杏林堂、東京ガスなど。代官山ヒルサイドテラス (槇文彦氏設計) から横須賀市秋谷の入り江に事務所を移転。クライアントのお誘いを受けて専属となり、逸品意匠研究所は25年をもって解散。その後 beachcraft を設立。現在に至る。

Representative Profile
Arari Kashiwamura
- Spent a year living in the Kingdom of Tonga during high school.
- Studied architecture at the Nihon University College of Art under Professor Iwao Yamawaki of the Bauhaus school.
- Joined GK Design after graduation, primarily working on Yamaha motorcycle designs.
- Transferred to GKDI (Santa Monica, USA), where he engaged in advanced development and market research for motorcycles and various motor products.
- While in the U.S., attended evening marker sketch classes for a year at ArtCenter College of Design.
- After leaving GK, toured design offices in Europe.
Upon returning to Japan, established Best Designing, inc. (a design firm). Worked on designs for motorcycles, industrial equipment, home appliances, medical devices, and more. Key clients included Hitachi, Sony, Panasonic, NEC, Teijin, Yokohama Rubber, Water Studio, Nemoto Kyorindo, Tokyo Gas, and others.
Relocated the office from Daikanyama Hillside Terrace (designed by Fumihiko Maki) to a cove in Akiya (Yokosuka City). Later became an exclusive designer for a former client, leading to the dissolution of Best Designing, inc. after 25 years. Subsequently established beachcraft, moving from Hayama to Uraga, where the studio is currently based.
